This April, as part of my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Concordia University Irvine, I have been given the opportunity to travel to Belize from April 25–May 2, 2026, to provide mental health services in an underserved school community. Our team will work directly with students and teachers, offering counseling informed by Adlerian and Solution-Focused approaches to support emotional well-being, stress management, and resilience. For younger children, Adlerian play therapy techniques will be used to provide developmentally appropriate care in a safe and supportive environment, responding to needs identified by the local school leadership.
This trip is both a service opportunity and a critical component of my clinical training. It will allow me to apply my skills in a real-world setting while deepening my cultural competence and understanding of mental health care across diverse contexts. This experience is also grounded in my faith, and I pray that God will use our team to show unconditional love and compassion, bringing hope and healing to the community we serve. I am building a network of prayer and financial support to make this mission possible, and I would be deeply grateful for your partnership. Through your prayers and generosity, you will play a meaningful role in supporting this work and helping extend care to those we serve.
I am hoping to raise my goal of $3,250 by February 25, 2026. This will cover all the trip essentials, including food, lodging, flights, and transportation.
