To visit EVERY Costa Coffee in Chelmsford in a single day.

With 28 outlets (I'm not counting Galleywood or Boreham), this is no simple task. Years of preparation and training have gone into this 24-hour adventure - one man against nature, distance and unfitness.

I'll navigate the Costa Triangle from Big Tesco, to Tesco Garage, to Oakland's Esso. Marvel at the pyramidal peaks of Chelmer Valley Retail Park. Traverse the pedestrian valleys of Beaulieu. And circumnavigate the soaring tower of Melbourne (not that one) before returning to the majestic arched caverns of Chelmsford Station. I'll bring back proof in the form of receipts and Costa loyalty points. All by foot. All in one day.

Hosting a population of around 110,625, the modest City of Chelmsford in Essex, UK was once dubbed "The Costa capital of Britain" and boasts the highest Costa Coffee density per capita in the United Kingdom. Something to be proud of? Definitely a challenge worthy of a grand adventure.

About Chelmsford Foodbank

Chelmsford Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust network. It is run in partnership with local churches, facilitated by The River Church Chelmsford Limited. Registered charity number 1144804.

The foodbank provides emergency three-day food parcels to local people facing crisis. Run largely by volunteers and supported by community donations, it operates through a central warehouse and several distribution centres.

Beyond supplying food and basic essentials, the foodbank offers a welcoming, non-judgemental environment and signposts visitors toward further support services that can help address underlying issues such as debt, benefits delays, or housing challenges.

Last year, the foodbank distributed 8,769 three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.
