Hi everyone!
I will be volunteering on a ten-week program with Raleigh International in Costa Rica in July and August 2023 helping the local community with a variety of projects. This has been a wish of mine ever since high school and, finally, I am so close to doing it! But for me to get there, Raleigh and I need your help first.
Hang on... what is Raleigh International and which projects are ongoing?
Raleigh International is a youth-driven, sustainable development charity that brings young adults together from various corners of the planet to create lasting change. (https://raleighinternational.org/)
My involvement contributes to 2 projects:
A Natural Resources Management project which will involve supporting the preservation of biodiversity, development in indigenous territories, and the natural resources in Costa Rica's national parks.
A Community Resilience project, where I will work with local indigenous communities to improve access to education, water, and sanitation for some of Costa Rica's most marginalised children. Among other things, educational centres and classrooms will be built in order to battle the considerably high illiteracy rate.
Why donate?
This charity encourages its participants to reach a specific fundraising target of which 2/3rd I have gathered myself already and the remaining 1/3rd I’m asking for your help. This money will for a large part (80%) go towards this foundation and its projects, but will also provide me with shelter and food during my stay (flights and other costs will be covered by myself).

- 1. By donating, you are supporting me for my Cycling Challenge. At the beginning of May, I'll be taking on a challenge to cycle the length of the Netherlands, 450km from Leeuwarden to Maastricht in 4 days which is equivalent to the length of Costa Rica.
