THE 2023 CORNISH BARBARIANS MARATHON ROW

After the huge success of last year's mass-participation "Tribute to Roger" festive marathon row, and because all of our Barbarians helped to raise so much money and awareness for our chosen charity by putting their bodies on the line for another year, we've decided to return to Pentewan in 2023 to tackle what promises to be another epic South-Coast circular marathon row through everything that the autumnal inshore Atlantic Ocean can throw at us.

This year, we'll be doing it all in aid of Penhaligon's Friends, Cornwall's children's bereavement charity and – with your help – we hope that we can once again pull together to raise an initial £5,000 for charity .

PENHALIGON'S FRIENDS x CORNISH BARBARIANS

Penhaligon's Friends provides a range of services and resources for bereaved children and their families throughout the County of Cornwall. They offer Memory Days, family visits, telephone advice and support, school support, 1-1 sessions and groups, and, because they are only a small team of staff and volunteers, they rely heavily on grants, donations and acts of kindness to ensure they can continue to support our community.

In 2021/22, 994 children and young people were referred to them and received compassionate, considerate and invaluable support in their time of need. Together, as a collective of Barbarian Rowers from traditional rowing clubs across the UK, we're aiming to empower Penhaligon's Friends to help even more children once our 2023 Barbarian Row has been completed.
