Help Cornerstone Cafe Improve!

Welcome to the Cornerstone Café fundraiser! We are the students of Saint Mary's College, and we have big ideas and a solid plan to improve the social experience inside St. Joseph's Hall (the basement of The Immaculata).

Here's our idea:

St. Joseph's Hall is the perfect place for faithful to gather after Mass and socialize, but it's missing something.

Most smaller parishes have coffee and donuts, which makes that "stay and chat after Mass" church community experience more enjoyable.

We, (the students of St. Mary's College) have offered coffee and donuts in the past, but we realize that with our large class, we have the capability to offer much more than just store-bought donuts and drip coffee (which you could buy elsewhere in town).

Something special for the large group of faithful.

Something nicer than just coffee and donuts, to match the grandeur and size of The Immaculata.

That's why we have spent weeks working with advisors, discussing new ideas, and having meetings to come up with a solid plan for the "New and Improved" Cornerstone Café (after all, we want to make this experience wonderful from Day One).

ESPRESSO BAR

Cornerstone Café will have a brand new full espresso bar, staffed by trained baristas recruited from the College. This espresso bar will offer affordable espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and more, all made with high quality ingredients and locally roasted coffee. We will have café quality to-go cups with lids so you can enjoy your coffee in the Hall or take it to-go.

SELF-SERVE DRIP COFFEE STATION

We understand that the line could grow quite long for espresso drinks, and some people may prefer plain coffee, which is why we will also offer a self-serve drip coffee station. This will be a "donation based" station, so you can pour yourself a cup of coffee, make a donation, and leave, all with no wait. This coffee will also be freshly roasted and ground every Sunday to ensure you get a delicious cup every time.

BAKERY COUNTER

We have some baking talent in the College, and we are excited to share the results of delicious recipes with you! While we may offer pre-made items occasionally, we plan to offer fresh baked and homemade breakfast items as often as possible.

This will also be a separate counter from both the espresso bar and self-serve coffee station, to keep any lines moving quickly.

THE TIMELINE

We plan to open September 1st, 2024, but we need your help!

WHAT WE HAVE

We have already secured an espresso machine, which is the most expensive item on the list, so we're half-way there!

We need your help to secure additional equipment and supplies to be ready for the grand opening. Some things include:

Ultimately, the goal is to have a place where the parishioners of St. Marys can go after Mass, grab a latte and fresh baked pastry, sit down in a comfortable and welcoming environment to chat with friends and family, and enjoy their Sunday in a relaxing way.
