Hello friends and supporters of Cormac's racing! As many of you know, Cormac and I started racing together about 7 years ago. You generously contributed to the fund that helped us to buy a racing chair, and boy, have we ever used it! Numerous 5K, 10K, and Half Marathons on the road, 5 years of high school cross country races out on trails, 2 high school track seasons, events with Team Hoyt San Diego and Ainsley's Angels, and even a couple of Boston Marathons!! He has done races in CA, NV, and MA (and we hope to eventually do at least one race together in every single state.) and we have loaned it out to others to get a feel for what access to racing feels like for those who can't use their own legs to do it. Our chair has taken a licking and still keeps ticking but we are facing a new challenge that we thought we had planned for...

Cormac has outgrown his chair! He has the torso and upper body of someone who is about 6'4", but short (surgically shortened) legs. So his lower body still fits in the chair, but even with an additional headrest, Cormac doesn't really fit into the chair comfortably any more. Our hope is to raise enough money for a new, somewhat custom chair, along with a new boom (so he can be towed behind a bike for triathlons) and the shipping fees required to get the equipment from Massachusetts out to us in San Diego.

Once we have raised the necessary funds and have the new chair in hand, our old one will be donated to either THSD or Cormac's TRACE program at SDSU which will enable those who could use a racing chair but don't have access to one of their own to be able to participate in the racing that Cormac has grown to love so much.
