This Christmas why not take the plunge in aid of Cork's homeless and join us for a swim on Christmas day at 12 noon in beautiful sheltered White Bay Beach in East Cork. That’s much more than a gift. Will you Swim for Simon and give a Christmas gift this year?

This year marks the 32nd Anniversary of the first Cork Simon White Bay Christmas swim in 1993. Since then, thousands of swimmers have raised over €300,000 to support the excellent work of Cork Simon Community. We are really looking forward to getting everyone back in the water this Christmas day in White Bay at 12 Noon.

Last year's event raised over 5321 Euros with every donation much appreciated and every cent raised benefitting the Cork Simon Community. Cork Simon offers invaluable support for homeless men and women in Cork, offering housing and support on their journey back to independent living. Cork Simon works with some of the most vulnerable and marginalised people - men and women of all ages and backgrounds and with all kinds of life experiences. Cork Simon stays with people on their journey out of homelessness for as long as they need – they can only do that with your help and generosity. Cork Simon believes everyone who calls Cork home should have a home.

Cork Simon Community provides emergency support services to men and women experiencing homelessness. We operate a 47-bed emergency shelter, nightly soup run and outreach team, day service, youth drug prevention and health services. We operate 5 high-support houses providing round the clock services for residents. Our Housing First team works with people moving from homelessness into permanent accommodation with a package of supports tailored to each individual.

The Cork Simon White Bay Christmas Swim has been organised by Caitlin Ni Lordain and Gay Cotter for the last 30 years and the success of the event has been down to a wonderful group of local volunteers including Liam Wall and Hugh McMahon. Thanks to all their efforts the swim has grown to include participants from Aghada, Whitegate and throughout East Cork and far beyond. The swim has become a great tradition and a reunion event for friends and family from all over the globe. All are welcome on the day and it's a great way to clear the cobwebs before settling down to Christmas lunch.

Thank you all for your generous support of this very worthy cause over the years and wishing you and yours a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2026.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh agus Nollaig Shona Daoibh go léir!

Ar scáth a céile a mhaireann na daoine.
