Corey Kulcsar
Corey Kulcsar, a loving father of two amazing children Cael 9 and Cora 7, has had his world turned upside down after facing a terminal brain cancer diagnosis. On June 7th, 2021 Corey Kulcsar was officially diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is an aggressive form of brain cancer and in Corey’s case surgery is ruled out due to this type of the cancer.
The onset of Corey’s illness came suddenly and unexpectedly. On January 1, 2021, Corey’s first major symptom appeared to be a stroke, with muscle spasms and numbness in his whole left side. He was rushed to the hospital and had a series of tests and a CT scan. With no cause being able to be determined at that time, Corey’s condition was thought to be epileptic seizures. Throughout the month of January, Corey had received a series of tests (EEG’s and an MRI). Devastatingly, the initial results from the tests identified that Corey had three Tumors located in his brain. The location of the major Tumor was the cause of the seizures and unfortunately, due to where it was situated, no biopsy could be performed to verify what type of cancer Corey had. After waiting 5 months and undergoing follow-up tests, scans showed that the lesions had spread to another area of Corey’s brain. From this location, doctors were able to perform a biopsy of the tumor on May 20th. On June 7th, the results of the biopsy had confirmed the very sad and shocking news that Corey does indeed have Glioblastoma.
The next step for Corey is to start an aggressive treatment of Radiation to stop or slow the progression of cancer and provide Corey with much more time to enjoy precious moments with his two amazing children and his friends and family that love him dearly. As Corey and his family remain positive and optimistic, the road ahead will be difficult.
Corey has been self-employed as a welding inspector for many years. Since January, Corey has only been able to work sporadically due to losing his driver’s license because of the frequent epileptic seizures he experiences. As his illness has progressed, Corey hasn’t been able to work which has and will continue to cause a financial strain on his family without his ability to bring home an income. Being self-employed, Corey does not have financial access to any disability, critical illness or government support.
This Go Fund Me is here to support Corey through his difficult journey and alleviate his financial stresses so that he can focus on staying positive, feeling well, and most importantly, spending time with Cael and Cora.
Thank you in advance for your utmost support and generosity.
