Corazon Build 2019

From March 1–3 I’m excited to be headed to Cumbres, Mexico participating in a mission trip to build two homes through Corazon.
“In just one day, our young people can change a family’s life in the most profound way. They can give shelter, security, and perhaps more importantly— they could give hope to a family in need in Tijuana, Mexico, where a home can provide the opportunity for young people to remain in school past 3rd grade.” Corazon has been building houses in Tijuana for over 35 years.
Corazón offers a hand up, not a hand out, rather it is a proven method of assistance that empowers the participants to help themselves. Corazon helps people earn their way out of poverty and into a brighter future with help from their USA neighbors. At the same time, the Los Amigo de Mercy volunteers improve their lives by the experience of service and by helping those less fortunate.
The Los Amigo de Mercy community has a very special relationship with the poor of Cumbres as we have relationships that span 14 years, building homes, and forming community across the Border.
A Corazon construction project improves the lives of a family and community in Mexico. It does even more. The most beautiful transformation that occurs is not just seeing a new house on what was hours earlier a slab of concrete and a pile of lumber. Instead, Corazon builds a heart of stewardship, gratitude, and community among the volunteers and their Mexican counterparts.
Your donation will help with building two homes at a cost of $10,000 each, this includes a $600 scholarship for Corazon students. In addition each family will receive the basic supplies for their new home.
