Copline Police Suicide Prevention Training
Donation protected
Hello all! My name is Ashton Packe, and I retired as a police sergeant from the Las Vegas Metro Police Dept. in 2021. Throughout my 23 year career, I experienced firsthand the stress and pressure of working in law enforcement. I am deeply concerned about police suicide, which kills far more amazing cops yearly than any suspect on the street.
Additionally, the mental health of our cops must be put at the forefront of police culture and training.
Because of these concerns and my desire to continue to serve my fellow officers, I am volunteering to be a part of COPLINE, a volunteer hotline committed to being an outlet for cops across the US. COPLINE offers a CONFIDENTIAL 24-hour hotline answered by retired law enforcement officers who have gone through strenuous vetting and training to become active listeners. COPLINE peer listeners assist with successfully managing various stressors impacting many law enforcement officers and their families.
COPLINE training is strenuous, and becoming a peer listener is voluntary. Therefore the cost is the responsibility of the trainee. The upcoming training will be held in Los Angeles, California, in February 2023. I plan on attending this intensive training to help those officers and their families so desperately in need of assistance.
I am seeking donations to help defer the cost of attending this training, such as plane fare, hotel, transportation and other expenses which will be incurred. All donations over what covers the cost of training will be donated to COPLINE!
