From Jordyn Longsworth (mother):
As difficult as this is to put into words and in “writing” here goes...
After a long two months of sickness and progressing vague symptoms, Thursday afternoon our sweet baby boy, Copeland Jude, was diagnosed at Flowers Hospital with a brain tumor in his cerebellum. He was then flown to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. We have been here since late Thursday night trying to process through this horrible situation and take in all of the difficult information. The tumor is covering the base of his brain and not allowing fluid to drain normally so yesterday he had his first surgery and had an external ventricular drain placed to drain fluid and decrease inflammation around his brain and the tumor. We are unsure still of what kind of tumor it is but his neurosurgeon described it as “very large and very difficult” especially because Copeland is only 14 months old. Monday he will go to surgery and the neurosurgeon will attempt to remove as much of the tumor as he can safely. Later in the week we will find out from pathology what kind of cells the tumor is made of.

If you’re wondering how we’re doing - We are absolutely heartbroken. We are taking it minute by minute and trying to snuggle our baby boy as much as possible. We are trying to replace fear with faith. Trying to replace stress with thankfulness for the incredible support we have. It’s hard not to just be plain terrified but we know we serve a magnificent God. We are praying and believing that Copeland will overcome this. We are praying fervently that this tumor will be benign and not as difficult as the surgeons believe it is. We are believing for complete healing over our son.

We are asking that you will join us in praying fervently and consistently for our baby boy. ♥️
Any donated funds for hospital/procedure expenses would help, and will mean the world to this family on the road to recovery for Copeland.
