Help support Cooper after motorcycle accident

Donation protected
Cooper is a kind, funny, compassionate 24 year old who loves adventure and taking care of others. He has recently been working towards becoming an EMT and unfortunately needed the emergency care that he has been learning and practicing to provide for others.

On Friday, September 5, 2025, Cooper was in a severe motorcycle accident in Vernal, Utah.

The collision occurred at high speeds in an intersection, and Cooper was not wearing a helmet or any protection at the time.

Cooper is currently in stable condition, but has a long road ahead of him to move towards recovery. He will have many surgeries and need to go through rehabilitation services to regain regular function.

He sustained a lot of head and face trauma and has had brain bleeds that have stabilized. His occipital bone (one of the two pillar type bones that connects the spine to the skull) had been completely severed and pushed towards his spinal cord. But has miraculously left room around the cord without doing any damage. After his first surgery, they have now stabilized his neck and spine so they could safely move on with other things.

His next step is surgery where they are putting a rod in for a tibia fracture.

Among many other procedures, he will be undergoing facial reconstruction and surgery to the breaks he had in his skull.

Luckily, and surprisingly, he has no major damage to his abdomen or chest. Lots of road rash, lacerations, and bruising.

Although these injuries are extensive and complex, the prognosis he has is incredible considering the severity of his accident and the many ways things could have been much worse for him.

We don't know yet what the long term is going to look like, but we know he has at least a year before things will start to be more "normal" again. We are asking for help for him as well as his family to be able to have funding to support him along the way, whether it be for medical costs, travel and related expenses (he is hospitalized hours from home), his living expenses, and future needs when he is eventually released from the hospital.

We appreciate so much love and care that has already been or will be given by friends and family and those who love Cooper. We also appreciate anyone who finds Cooper by his story and is able to support him and our family on this journey.
