With heavy hearts, we must share distressing news that has impacted us all. On the morning of April 20th, 2024, it was discovered that the defibrillator, installed by the gate of a local resident, had been vandalised, resulting in irreparable damage. This lifesaving device, once nestled securely within its heated, insulated box, was callously removed and dropped into the nearby gripe—a stream swollen by recent inclement weather.

We understand the impact this has on the safety and well-being of our family, friends and neighbours, and we share in the disappointment and frustration felt by all. However, in the face of this setback, we refuse to be defeated. We are determined to restore this vital resource.

Together, we can overcome this challenge and ensure that Coolree/ Forth Mountain remains prepared and resilient in the face of emergencies. We hope that we can find a way to replace our AED.

As we embark on this journey to sourcing a replacement defibrillator we must remain confident and vigilant. If you have any information about this incident feel free to make contact with us or Wexford Garda Station.

To the perpetrators...
Please read as education is key.

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are essential tools that can save lives during sudden cardiac arrest. They deliver controlled electrical shocks to restore normal heart rhythm, increasing survival chances. Accessible and user-friendly, AEDs require respect for their life-saving potential.

Thank you for your support and solidarity.
