Did you know your local tamale vendor, church potluck, and popup supper clubs may all be illegal?
Luckily, that could change with new legislation, AB 626 , the popular 2018 Homemade Food Operations Act, sponsored by the C.O.O.K. Alliance .
Although we have collected over 50,000 petition signatures and support from dozens of organizations, the C.O.O.K. Alliance is completely volunteer run, which means we need your help to fund this effort!
The C.O.O.K. Alliance brings together a diverse coalition ranging from cooks and community advocates to small business and public health experts, united by the belief that home cooking helps build healthy, resilient communities and create economic opportunities for the people that need them most. We support a future where talented home cooks can safely and legally share meals with their neighbors. Our hope is that if we can pass legislation in California in 2018, many other states will soon follow.
Please consider donating $10, $25, or $50 to support the C.O.O.K. Alliance in passing AB 626. Your donation will help fund our upcoming rally and media event on June 10th!
Funds raised will be used (in this order):
- Direct rally costs (including food, rentals, A/V, printing, and need-based travel vouchers to/from the rally)
- C.O.O.K. Alliance admin costs (including website, digital organizing tools, and gas to/from legislative meetings)
