The Conway Memorial Library was formed in 2002 after the death of Bridget Cunningham. Bridget was an avid reader. She had over 200 books of her own of which served as the "seed" of the library. The library is a memorial library honoring Bridget and many, many others. It was and is not receiving any taxation or public funding. The monies come from the pockets of family, friends, community members and strangers.
Unfortunately, the floor joists and beams are rotting. Insurance is unwilling to help, as it was caused by groundwater. This means the library is only open in a limited capacity, as it is unsafe to be in most of the building. Even being open only 2-3 hours a week, we are still serving 15+ patrons in that time. Any and all help is appreciated as we are only half way to our 50,000 goal. Thank you!
