Hello, my name is Yvette Hoskins(Vice Chair) of the Dundee RAAC Campaign Group. My husband Wayne Hoskins(Chairman) Dundee RAAC Campaign Group.
We are members of the Uk RAAC Campaign Group.
We created a group/campaign to allow residents who are affected by RAAC(Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete)that was used to build their homes with. RAAC is a defective light weight substandard material that should never have been used.
Local authorities & governments are saying they only found this out in 2023. But no.....it was known about as early as 1994 when the 1st homes had to be demolished due to RAAC & its many defects(NOT JUST WATER INGRESS), as many bodies are leading you to believe. I found evidence that in an area of Dundee where homes are built with RAAC it was known about as early as 1977, 1978, 1989.
Many, many families & communities are facing homelessness, bankruptcy, possible demolition(Aberdeen-500 homes).
Possible eviction notices(2hrs to collect whatever belongings they can manage)Tillicoultry.
No lenders will provide mortgages for any property with RAAC.
CPO process. Negative equity.
Costly survey fees every 6 months to a year.
No insurance policy will cover RAAC roofs.
In Dundee 8000 people are on the current housing list. It would be wrong to add over 2700+ residents to this already critical housing crisis.
More & more properties will likely be declared, affecting Scotland as a whole. The campaign started out with 1200 homes in Scotland affected by RAAC.....in the space of a few months this has doubled to 2400......and numbers keep increasing.
""HELP DUNDEE & MONIFIETH RESIDENTS SAVE THEIR HOMES""
JOIN the campaign to help to create NATIONAL FUNDING to remove the RAAC allowing thousands of families to live in safe homes.
