Contrast Steel Band's 24-Hour Pan-A-Thon

As a newly formed Community Interest Company (CIC), Contrast Steel Band, is dedicated to providing steel pan tuition, workshops, and events to members of the local community of all ages.

Although we only recently registered as a CIC, Contrast Steel Band has existed as a completely self-funded community band for 50 years. Now our vision is to place more emphasis on giving back to the community that has supported us over the years. Our mission is to instil the steel pan in the heart of the community of Leicester; enrich lives through music education and cultural experiences, fostering a sense of community and creativity. We aim to do this be facilitating more classes, workshops and events. To help fund our initiatives, we are organising a number of fundraising events throughout the year and thank you in advance for your support and donations!

Our first event to be held during our jubilee year is the 24-hour Pan-A-Thon where the band will be hosting a live-streamed open rehearsal and performance for a non-stop 24 hours! Based in the bands home of the African Caribbean Centre, Leicester; members of the community will be able to pop in to the centre to watch, or can follow our pan-a-thon online by tuning into the band's live stream.
