Our neighbors decided to have a 4 seasons sunroom added to their house in May, so their 2 year old terminally ill son could enjoy his last summer in the fresh air.
Carson was born with a horrible de novo genetic mutation, SCN8a, which affects the sodium channels in the brain and caused uncontrollable seizures and severe developmental delays. Unfortunately this mutation was neurodegenerative for Carson and there was nothing the doctors could do for him.
What was meant to bring joy to the family has turned into a nightmare.
The contractor delayed the 3 week project throughout the summer and fall.
None of the work is up to industry standards and the whole addition is not structurally sound.
The contractor has taken the money and abandoned the family with a leaking roof, windows falling apart, mold growth, and destroyed their deck and landscaping in the process.
The building is not properly supported and could collapse if not removed and repaired before the first snow. Wood and stucco is already starting to split and fail and creaking is getting louder each day. This money will directly go towards removal of the dilapidated structure, restoration of the home, and any additional repairs needed. If any money is left over, it will go to a charity of Todd and Paula’s choice.
Tragically, their son passed away in September while they continued to wait for the contractor to remediate his mess.
Please reach out to myself or Dave Rohner with any questions.
