We created Contained Community to make housing more accessible by turning foldable prefab homes into stylish, affordable short-term and long-term rentals. Our mission is to give people who’ve been priced out of traditional housing a new kind of home — one built with creativity, care, and community.
Affordable housing is becoming harder and harder to find — especially for people with limited income, poor credit, or unconventional life paths. Rent is rising, and homeownership feels out of reach for too many. We’re tackling this by proving that home doesn’t have to mean huge loans or traditional construction. It can be simpler, smarter, and still beautiful.
Dallas is one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S., and the demand for both short-term rentals and affordable housing is rising every year. Millions of people are priced out of homeownership, while millions more are looking for unique Airbnb stays that feel personal and meaningful. We’re building for both — and eventually scaling beyond Dallas into surrounding communities.
Contained Community is starting with one foldable prefab container home in Dallas. (Ideal Home #1)
We’ll fully insulate, design, and set it up as an Airbnb to build credibility and income. Over time, we’ll expand into more homes and offer both short-term and long-term leasing — providing affordable, cozy, intentionally designed homes to people who need rest, flexibility, or a second chance. Each home will have its own theme, purpose, and soul.
We’re raising $20,000 to purchase land, buy our first fold-out home, insulate it, anchor it safely, and furnish it with love. That includes permits, weatherproofing, professional labor, and design materials. Your contribution helps us build the first step — so we can prove the model and bring more people home.
Right now it’s just me and my brother.
I’m a filmmaker and script supervisor based in Dallas, and I’ve spent years building creative projects from scratch. My brother’s a visionary with great taste and an eye for design. Together, we’re learning as we go, hiring help when needed, and planning to do more of the work ourselves as we expand.
Thank you for even reading this far — seriously. Whether you can give $5 or $500, you’re helping us unfold something much bigger than a house. You’re helping us reclaim hope. Every donation, every share, every word of encouragement means the world to us. You’re part of this community now.
