Connors Family Adoption

We are reaching out to you and asking for your help in funding our adoption.

Some might say our story of adoption began 5 years ago, when the thought of adopting a child grew into multiple conversations, and those conversations grew into prayer, and those prayers led us to committing to the process. But truly, the journey into adoption began when God began His work in our hearts, from the moment we entrusted our lives to Him and were adopted ourselves into His family. And as we’ve grown closer to our Father our understanding of love and family has matured in our desire to reflect the enduring love of Christ.

We have been so incredibly blessed by the gifts of six amazing, silly, kind, hilarious, beautiful, wonderful children! The instant we met our first child, Donny, we were in love, and couldn’t imagine a more honorable journey in life than to raise this boy, feed him, nurture him, teach him, and protect him for the time that God has given us. Then came our daughter Faith, soon after Patsy, and then our little Lulu. Four kiddos! Yes, our lives had changed immensely. Everything that was all once about ourselves, now became about these kids, and though there were often moments of exhaustion and undeniable brain fog, loving and serving and leading our family drew us even closer to God, and joy was literally overflowing in our lives. We decided through much prayer and confirmation from the Lord that it was time to share this abundant life and gift of family with a child who needed a home and family of his or her own.

As we walked in obedience, we faced the trails that many adoptive parents have trudged through: endless paperwork, overwhelming financial investment, and a roller-coaster of checklists and emotions. We were at the verge of completing our home study and hit a roadblock so devastating that our adoption came to a screeching halt. We were heartbroken. All that we had worked for, all the time we put into it, the thousands of dollars we invested, were lost.

But God, in His infinite wisdom and perfect timing, used the next few years of our lives to teach us to lean into Him more, to trust him more, and to practice obedience more faithfully. During that time, He also gifted us with two more little boys to add to the Connors crew: sweet, joyous, wildly entertaining Timmy, and our darling little sugar dumpling Charlie.

Now people say our hands are full, but we have become quite accustomed to loving and hugging and giving our hands over to these kids, and thanks to God, we have no doubt that our arms can wrap around more. And our hearts…. It seems the more children we’ve had, the more love, and the ability to love, has grown in our hearts. We’ve been nudged a few times to continue on with this adoption journey, and are now committed and incredibly excited to be back on this road! We have a new agency, An Open Door Adoption Agency, in Thomasville, GA, who is dedicated to helping us walk through this process. Our agency has a policy that if for some reason another devastating road block arises, they will not keep our funds, but hold them for us and allow us to overcome and continue.

And now, as we walk in obedience, we walk in complete humility, asking our friends, family, and acquaintances to consider helping fund our adoption. Fundraising is new to us, and the cost of adoption is shockingly overwhelming. It’s hard to imagine that we could possibly raise the money needed to pull this off, but we know we have a faithful and great God, and it will be only through Him that our child will be delivered into our hands. Thank you so much for taking the time to read over this little story of ours. We are reaching out to you to please pray about helping our family reach our financial needs to complete our adoption and fulfill this journey.
