It's Jahluvi here many of you know me from the markets, where I sell one-of-a-kind, 100% cotton, handmade garments using vibrant, ethically sourced fabrics from Ghana. Right now, I’m writing to you from my ancestral land by the Volta River in Agorta, Ghana, where I’m working with my local team to create the next collection for our summer market season in Australia — and something very special: our first fashion show in Melbourne this November!

But this journey is so much bigger than fashion.

Here in Agorta, I’m laying the groundwork to build a fashion training and production hub that will upskill local sewers, preserve traditional textile crafts, and provide dignified employment to my community. This is about empowering the next generation of makers — and bridging Ghana and Australia through culture, creativity, and craftsmanship.

We’ve hit some unexpected setup costs, and I’m launching this fundraiser to help us cover the cost of materials, sewing equipment, and fair wages for our team. Every dollar you give directly supports the hands behind the garments you love.
