Computers 4 Kids Covid-19
Donation protected
When Covid-19 hit and schools were forced to push learning online, it occurred to me a lot of families may be in need of a computer to keep their kids connected to their classrooms and school communities. I realized that I could help with my background in computers. I quickly turned around a couple of old computers we had lying around the house, and offered them up to friends. Then, I posted on Facebook to see if others had more computers as well to see if we could help other families. The response has been amazing. So many people want to help, and those that don't have computers are offering to make a donation. Originally, I was declining any offers of donations, but my family has suggested they could help by setting up this GoFundMe campaign.
Donations will go towards new parts, and if -- when we come out the other side of this -- there are any funds leftover, we will direct them towards local charities, like Big Brother Big Sister or StepStones For Youth .
We are starting in our own backyard, but we know that this move to online learning is affecting everyone -- from elementary kids to college kids across the nation -- and we are hopeful we may be able to expand our impact.
