Computer Lab for The Road Home

More about The Road Home
In a typical week more than 100 school age kids stay at The Road Home. The Road Home is a private non-profit agency that assists individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake County and along the Wasatch Front.
My name is Miles, and I'm in 9th grade. I've been volunteering at The Road Home this year, and I meet kids who are in school like me, but they don't have easy access to computers for homework and other projects. Since a lot of my homework is turned in online, I know not having access to a computer would make it difficult to keep up with schoolwork. We use resources like Google classroom and Google drive to turn in assignments from home. We also use computers for research and homework help. This fundraiser will provide a volunteer led computer lab with 5 laptop computers, a unit to store and charge the computers, and a printer. We hope having access to a computer lab will allow the kids to transition more seamlessly to life after the shelter. We hope parents can also use the computers to submit job resumes and check email.
Our goal is to raise $2,000 by April 30th so the computer lab can be open as soon as possible. This will help a lot of people and make our community better. It means a lot to me because I've met the kids who are staying at The Road Home, and I would like to make their lives a little bit easier. Thank you very much for considering a donation.
