Comprehensive Cleft Care to Children in Ecuador
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Evan Lynch and I'm a Plastic Surgery Resident at the University of Kentucky. My clinical interest is in craniofacial surgery, and I plan on pursuing a craniofacial fellowship after residency for additional surgical training. As I move into my senior years of residency, I have an opportunity to volunteer my services to the Global Smile Foundation on their upcoming trip in Guayaquil, Ecuador. We will be helping provide comprehensive cleft care to patients in this region. This is a great opportunity to provide surgical services to a population that is geographically and socioeconomically in need. However, I need your help to make this trip possible! I'm hoping, with your help, to raise funds for travel expenses and supplies for the trip.
The Global Smile Foundation is an international medical agency geared toward helping every child born with a cleft lip and/or palate with comprehensive cleft care throughout their childhood into adulthood. These patients require complex surgical procedures, but additionally, they will require post-operative care, speech therapy, dental and orthodontic treatment, and psychosocial support. I would encourage you to to visit their website, https://gsmile.org/ , for more information on their mission and the team.
Thank you for visiting my page, and for your continued support as I complete my training!
