On behalf of Jernigan Construction, we are raising funds for a family who is facing a difficult battle in the midst of a remodel we are completing.
Rex and Linda Barron moved to Durant in December to be closer to their children as well as their doctors and the hospital as they enter old age. As many maternal figures do, Linda has a passion for cooking and serving meals to her family. In their new home, she was unhappy with the layout and style of the kitchen. She stated, "I don’t even want to cook in here," while meeting with our contractor to discuss the remodel. She came up with a plan for her dream kitchen and for the last few weeks, that dream has been coming to fruition.
Though, during these past weeks, Linda has been in and out of the hospital on three separate occasions. As most of you know, multiple hospital stays come with many challenges. This Friday, we called to give an update on the coming week and what to expect, and we received some terrible news from Rex. His wife was discharged home on hospice.
Not only was this an unexpected change in her health, it is also proving to be a very fast transition. This will be a devastating loss for their entire family and her husband of 57 years.
Our goal in sharing this fundraiser is to alleviate the financial burden of this job that she was so excited to see completed. From what we are told, that may not be a possibility.
We will not be profiting from this fundraiser. All funds will go directly toward materials and labor costs for our subcontractors to help ease the financial burden for this family whom we have come to care about.
It is an extremely unfortunate circumstance. If anything, this family can use your prayers during this difficult time. Please consider donating if able.
