Help Rebuild a Life Taken By Ice

I again want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has helped, spread the word, donated, reached out to me, offered an ear and shared your own war stories

When Enrique finally arrived safely in Colombia, we thought this whole ordeal was over - but as it turns out, that was just the beginning.

Rebuilding a life after detention and deportation is an entirely new fight -one that few people ever see. Enrique is now one of two men we’re helping who are starting over in a place that no longer feels like home.

While most of us have become aware of the current unspeakable conditions - the lack of due process, being taken by masked men and thrown into vans, arrested at hearings, vanished from systems for month, living in filth and garbage in 300% overcrowded jails until youre finally taken to another country - the one you happened to be born in.

There are many who have no ties to there country of origin as as a result, while being out of the immigration system is a relief... all it does is convert one problem into another as you have to build a life, usually on your own, without family, network, support, money or ID.

Enrique is one such person and it has been extremely difficult for him to manage this while suffering PTSD. For that reason while Enrique’s story began this fundraiser to help he and his family pay the huge bills and debts to release him it’s grown into something bigger — a way to help others like him reclaim stability, safety, and dignity.

We’re partnering with local organizations in Colombia to provide essentials: food, clothing, housing, transportation, and access to mental-health support, while stabilizing them with shelter, food, water and mental and medical care.

If you donated before — thank you. Your kindness changed someone’s life. If you can share or give again — you’ll now be helping several people rebuild what was taken from them.
