A TEST RUN FOR COLLECTIVE CARE
As some of you may know: I'm a pole instructor and a trained movement therapist with a degree in psychology and liiiiiived experience navigating chronic illness. I believe access to health care & community should not depend on financial priviledge, so I'd like to start a one-month test run in collective provision: to see how powerful it can be when many people contribute a little — so that support, healing and embodied spaces can exist free of charge for those who need them.
Goal:
To offer weekly local somatic pole classes (Berlin) — designed to support:
- rebuilding trust in the physical body
- emotional release and literacy
- relational awareness and co-regulation
- chronic stress and pain management
- reclaiming joy, play, sensuality & agency
These sessions are therapy-informed but not therapy in the clinical sense — because I don’t believe in hierarchies between “healer” and “client.” Instead, I see this work as co-created: we enter the space together, with care, consent and curiosity.
Why community-funded?
I’ve chosen not to work within the German health insurance system, which increasingly demands mental health documentation and labeling — systems that, historically and presently, often harm those already marginalized.
What your contribution supports:
- my instructor fee (including preparation, further education costs & ressources)
- studio rent
- booking & communication software
- planned: guest facilitators, online offerings
If possible, contribute what you’d be willing to pay monthly — so I can get a first sense of how sustainable this model might be & what it might look like in detail.
THANK YOU!
You’re helping create a space for someone else (or yourself) to show up, breathe & connect.
NOTE: I'll be collecting contributions for about one week — and begin planning September class offerings based on the support received. If you can't support yourself, please share this with someone who might.
