Our 2022 community goal at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre goal is to provide:
- 1,850 live fresh wreaths at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
- 300 artificial wreaths at Springdale Cemetery in downtown Madison, Indiana
- 500 artificial wreaths at Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison, Indiana.
Our Community Veteran Wreath Campaign Background Information:
Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre became a local sponsor in 2009 of Wreaths Across America (live wreaths) to honor veterans interred at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. We have never had a year since the start of our campaign in 2009, where we have successfully raised enough donations to supply every veteran's grave with a live wreath. We have had to rely on artificial wreaths purchased by Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre and donations made throughout the year to cover the number of graves we didn't have live wreaths for at Indiana Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
A couple of years later, we decided to expand separately from Wreaths Across America and provide artificial wreaths to designated military sections at Springdale Cemetery and Grandview Memorial Gardens by purchasing artificial wreaths.
Although the annual project generates heartfelt donations from family members with loved ones, funeral memorials, one local fund-raising group and free-will contributions at our annual Community Christmas Show, the final costs far exceed the income.
