Community Support for Mallakhamb Centers

Mallakhamb Federation USA (MFU) is the apex body governing within the USA for developing a structured curriculum, training of athletes, periodic evaluations of athletes, conducting competitions, coaches' trainings, and coaches' certification under the International Mallakhamb Federation.

MFU, founded as a not-for-profit organization in 2015, with one training center, currently has 9 centers with 140+ young athletes.

Our entire operations are carried out by volunteers and through help extended by the community through free or low-cost use of premises and opportunities to demonstrate Mallakhamb in front of larger audiences at various events.

We are in urgent need to cover some capital expenses for setting up good premises for The Brunswick center which has been a high performing center.

These expenses will cover the security deposit, new equipment and set up of premises with required infrastructure.

Center Progress:

Brunswick center started in NOV2023 with 3 athletes.

In Jan 2025 Registered athlete count is 25.

Achievements:

The center started in Nov '23 with 1 day training for 3 athletes.

Sep ‘24 saw 2 days of training for 25 athletes. This is 8 fold growth in under a year.

6+ demonstrations in 1 year including at Chinmay Missions, Rang Barse Dahi Handi,Virginia Demo and Diwali Event in South Brunswick.

Award winning performance : 2 Brunswick athletes won in their categories in the MFU Tristate competitions.

Mallakhamb Day celebration Event celebrated on 15th June 2024.

Annual Evaluation per MFU norms completed in Jan 2025 in the presence of the community Dignitaries. All athletes progressed in their levels.

Challenges:

The current location will not be available from Jan 31st 2025.

After searching about 30 alternatives and found one place that fits all requirementsThis space requires a security deposit of $10k.

This space will require additional $6000 for removal of the ceiling and installing brackets to hang the rope for Rope Mallakhamb Coaching.

Equipments purchases:

1 Mallakhamb Pole costing about $1300

Safety Mat/ Crash Mats costing $1000

Chin up bars, Swedish wall rack and balance beam etc approximately $2500

Above challenges require an infrastructure spend of above $20k USD.
