Community Support for a Neighbor in Need

Hi, my name is Rachel Cannon and I am asking for community support for a neighbor in need who, due to circumstances beyond her control, needs help to keep her family safe and in their home. For safety reasons, I cannot give names of photos, so I know I am asking you to trust me.

This neighbor escaped an abusive situation with her children recently, and was doing well with housing and employment. She discovered she was pregnant shortly after escaping her abusive relationship, but continued to rebuild life. Then she contracted COVID, which caused serious complications with her pregnancy and required that she be on bedrest. The inability to work led to her losing her job and she has been struggling to meet their needs. Now she is expecting to welcome a baby into the world and facing eviction from their home in the same week. She has searched for govt and community resources and did find some help with backrent owed, but the property management company is now saying they will continue with the eviction unless she can pay the upcoming rent. She is currently searching for jobs to start after the baby comes, but those paychecks won't come in time to prevent eviction in a week.

I am asking for any support (however small) you can offer to see if we can gather community support for her next 2 months rent. This would allow her to welcome her baby and start a new job without being in danger of losing their home and facing the expense and added trauma to her children of being uprooted again.

I plan to deliver the money myself to the leasing office, and any extra would go towards baby expenses.
