Living out off of 377 in Marshall County, we know firsthand how challenging it can be to find a safe place during tornadoes and severe storms. There are no public storm shelters nearby, and many people in our rural area are left without options when dangerous weather strikes. I want to change that by building a public storm shelter that will be open to everyone in our community and anyone nearby who needs a safe place to stay during a storm.

The shelter will be placed in a convenient location off of 377, making it easy for anyone in the country to drive up and enter without needing a key or special permission. My goal is to make sure that no one has to worry about where to go when severe weather hits, especially those who live far from town. I plan to hand out brochures to all of our neighbors so everyone knows about the shelter and feels welcome to use it whenever they need. This project is about bringing peace of mind and safety to as many people as possible.
