Community Outreach - Revamping Supa Ngwao Museum

Donation protected

My name is Bridget. I live in a small town in Botswana called Francistown. The town is steeped in history that could be well documented and presented to tourists who bypass this town on their way to visit one of the world's wonders, The Okavango Delta. The town is also the gateway to Kasane as well as the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. There is so much that this town can offer. For this reason, we are raising funds to assist in revamping the museum that is currently the white elephant in the town. Our cause is to assist communities in Botswana to preserve culture and to create spaces where artisans and craftsman can display their unique offerings to tourists that come from all works of life. Our first project is the Supa Ngwao Museum. We hope you will help us raise enough funds to transform two shipping containers. One will be an art gallery and the other a cafe.

$3000 will be spent on the current shipping container to transform it into an art gallery and the other $3000 will be used to purchase a shipping container and transform it into a cafe where tourists and locals can enjoy a relaxed visit while walking through the museum and learning the history of this mining town that housed many during the gold rush.
