Community Organizing Support For Our Sister Adam

Donation protected

Adam Dibba is a mother, a healer, a giver, and a valued member of our organizing community. She comes from generations of healers and givers, and was raised in a household by a mother who raised three boys and Adam, the only girl. Her mother nurtured, empowered, and loved Adam into the strong women in front of us today. And we are all so lucky - because she’s now passing this generational gift to our community and the world.

I had the fortune of meeting Adam through labor organizing back in 2015 and I am so blessed to say she is not just a colleague, but a dear friend and mentor.

Adam is constantly showing up and showing out wherever there is injustice, especially when it comes to and impacts Black and Brown youth. She especially prioritizes immigrants and communities of color, and is living proof that another world is possible - if we take the lead, work along side, and support women like her.

This has been an incredibly hard year for all of us, but one thing about Adam - she is full of love and ultimately one of the greatest healers I know besides my own mother.

All this to say, our sister Adam is being called on to do some continued work in the month of June and I’m here to humbly ask community to support her over the financial expenses. She constantly puts in time, energy, and often her own money and I would love if we could pitch in and help so she doesn’t have to, at least for early next month.

The total for per diem, incidentals, and lodging for this particular work she’ll be doing in June amounts to $672.32. Per https://www.federalpay.org/perdiem/2021/washington. But rates are also at a historic low - so I’m choosing to up that and making the first goal at least $1,000 as that cost does not include transportation or consider the additional safety precautions that must be taken.

Invitations to surpass this goal are welcome, if you’re willing and able to donate at this time.

She’s been doing this healing, organizing, and activist soul work for decades, so again, if community can give back and cover costs for work she’ll be doing from June 3rd - 6th, I and my sister Adam would be eternally grateful.
