In Islam, charity is not an extra act. It is a pillar. It is protection. It is love in motion.
Ramadan is the month where rewards are multiplied, where intentions are purified, and where our giving carries eternal weight. As we enter Year 6 of Muslim Freedom Fund’s Ramadan campaign, we are once again turning faith into action for our most vulnerable neighbours across Toronto.
Not everyone experiences Ramadan the same way.
For some, it is family and full tables.
For others, it is hunger, uncertainty, detention, isolation, or the quiet weight of not having enough.
This is where community becomes protection.
Muslim Freedom Fund is a volunteer-driven collective committed to advancing food justice and health equity for Muslims facing homelessness, financial hardship, detention, and systemic barriers. We do not wait for systems to respond. We respond.
Your Zakat and Sadaqah this Ramadan will directly fund:
Groceries for the Community Fridge
Every week, we stock the community fridge at 10 Gateway Blvd with fresh produce, fruits, and essential food items. For many families, this fridge is not a supplement. It is survival.
Halal Iftar Meals and Boxes of Dates
We distribute prepared halal meals and dates to those in shelters and those breaking their fast without access to nourishing food. No one should fast all day and still go to sleep hungry.
Hygiene Kits
We will distribute essential hygiene kits filled with everyday necessities that restore dignity, comfort, and self-respect.
Qurans and Prayer Mats
For individuals in shelters or precarious housing, spiritual grounding matters. We provide personal Qurans and prayer mats so worship remains accessible.
Therapy Sessions
Through our partnership with Canadian Muslim Counselling, we fund two therapy sessions per person for those who cannot afford mental health support. Healing is not a luxury. It is protection.
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said that charity does not decrease wealth. It increases it.
This Ramadan, your donation does more than feed someone. It shields them from hunger. It restores dignity. It funds healing. It reminds someone they are not alone.
We are entering Year 6 because this community shows up. Because you show up.
Give your Zakat. Give your Sadaqah. Give with intention.
Be the protection.
Donate today. Share widely. Multiply your reward.
