“Protecting Woodridge Green Space Legal Fund”
A community-driven effort to stop the rezoning of Zigfield Troy.

Protecting Woodridge Green Space Legal Fund
Help Us Protect Zigfield Troy from Rezoning & Over development
Our village is preparing to rezone Zigfield Troy golf course into high-density multi-dwelling units and additional retail—even as empty storefronts grow and our schools face overcrowding.
Residents along Dunham Road and across Woodridge have been clear:
We want our remaining green space preserved.
We want transparency.
We want a development process that reflects the will of the community—not decisions made behind closed doors.
But despite petitions, emails, meetings, and direct conversations, the Village has continued to advance redevelopment plans that conflict with the overwhelming feedback of the surrounding neighborhoods.
We now need legal support to ensure our voices are heard and to demand accountability from our elected officials.
Why We Are Raising Funds
These funds will support:
• Retaining an attorney who specializes in municipal and zoning challenges
• Submitting FOIA requests and reviewing documents related to discussions between the Village and the developer
• Preparing legal responses, filings, or appeals if the Village proceeds with rezoning efforts
• Consulting land-use experts to evaluate the impact on traffic, schools, drainage, and community green space
• Ensuring the Village follows proper procedure, including transparency, public notice requirements, and resident input
Every dollar helps us back our concerns with real legal representation, not just hope.
What’s at Stake
• Loss of one of Woodridge’s last major green spaces
• More retail despite vacant plazas already struggling
• Significant traffic increases on Dunham, 75th, Janes, and surrounding streets
• Added strain on already overcrowded Downers Grove and Darien schools
• Environmental impact, drainage concerns, and reduced open space for children, families, and wildlife
• Precedent for more high-density development in areas residents have repeatedly said they want preserved
This isn’t just about land.
It’s about the future character of Woodridge.
Why We Need Legal Counsel
Residents have repeatedly asked the Village for:
• Advance notice of development concepts
• Access to plans
• Explanation of options
• Honest dialogue about school impact, infrastructure strain, and loss of green space
Instead, we received:
• Weeks of delayed responses
• Plans developed without resident involvement
• Contradictory explanations
• Key concepts removed from the Village website without notice
• A November 13th joint meeting announced only after months of behind-the-scenes preparation
Legal support ensures the Village is held to the proper processes, transparency requirements, and zoning laws that protect residents.
Who Is Organizing This
This legal fund is organized by concerned Woodridge residents who believe our community deserves a development process guided by transparency, fairness, and respect for resident input. Funds will be used solely for legal and expert advisory expenses directly related to opposing rezoning.
A full summary of expenditures will be shared with donors to maintain transparency.
Why It’s Urgent
The Village has already begun reviewing redevelopment concepts, and decisions could progress quickly.
Once rezoning is approved, there is no going back.
Legal counsel must be engaged now so we’re prepared before the next board actions.
