We are the local Development Trust and charity for Quothquan & Thankerton community, based in rural Upper Clydesdale, Scotland. We seek your help to fund the ongoing maintenance, repair, upgrade and management of our three public defibrillators. We need approximately £700 a year to power and maintain our three units. If we exceed our goal we will seek to install a further unit in the community, possibly in Covington or Boat Bridge.
To date since installation three years ago, we can confirm two lives have been saved with one of our units. The three units have been used 11 times to date. They provide an important lifeline in our rural area, both to local people and the many visitors to Tinto Hill. The Ambulance service has made use of the machines on several occasions. After each use they have to be checked, new batteries and body pads provided.
About Us:
We are a Community Development Trust in Upper Clydesdale, Scotland. We run several projects based on the needs of our rural community including Thankerton, Quothquan, & Covington. We provide vital local facilities, such as public access defibrillators and the management of our village hall. We provide the home base for the Scouts Association for Clydesdale, with over 200 local children regularly making use of our hall. We consult widely with our community and are available to fund and support other local projects our residents request.
