The Wigan Cult Film Club began with a simple idea: that cinema should be shared, celebrated, and enjoyed together — especially the weird, wonderful, overlooked, and unforgettable films that don’t always get a space on the big screen.

In a town with a proud cultural history, we wanted to create something welcoming and inclusive: a place where cult classics, underground gems, and bold filmmaking could be experienced the way they were meant to be — with an audience. From midnight movies to genre-defying oddities, our screenings aren’t just about watching films; they’re about conversation, discovery, and community.

What started as a passion project has grown into a regular gathering of film lovers from Wigan and beyond. We’ve built a loyal audience who come not just for the films, but for the atmosphere: the shared laughter, the shocked gasps, the post-film discussions, and the joy of seeing something unexpected on a proper screen.
