Community Aid for Rina: Home Recovery Fund

Anyone who has met Rina knows that she is not only beautiful, hilarious, and brilliant, but also incredibly generous and loving. She is known to open her beautiful home to friends who needs a place to crash (or just crash out) and a good meal, and she has spent years curating her space so that her apartment felt just as dynamic and cozy as her personality.

Unfortunately, that space was violated and turned upside down; on June 8, Rina returned home from a day out with friends to find that her door had been kicked in and her apartment had been robbed. Thankfully, her sweet cats Eevee and Jolty were unharmed, but Rina lost not only thousands of dollars of possessions, but also her sense of safety and privacy. The perpetrators added to the trauma by leaving the apartment in total disarray. Rina was not even able to begin taking inventory of the losses right away because there was such a mess to clean up. Moving on from this event will be no easy task, so it is time for Rina’s community to come together and give back to her some of the love and care that she has poured into each of us.

The goal of this crowdfund is to replace some of Rina’s possessions, but also enable her to break her lease and relocate so that she can work toward healing by having a fresh start. Even if the damage is repaired and the things replaced, continuing to live in a home that has been so carelessly violated would hardly be conducive to the spiritual rebuild.
