5 weeks ago, a family friend was detained by ICE. He was on his way to pick up an item from Facebook Marketplace at 7 am on a Sunday morning. When he was returning home, a block from where he purchased the items in Beaverton, Oregon, he was pulled over by an unmarked vehicle in a secluded area. He was apprehended violently by excessive use of a taser. He was rendered unresponsive. A nearby firehouse saw the commotion and rendered first aid. They recommended he be treated at a hospital, but ICE agents did not transport him to the hospital but to an ICE detention center in Portland, OR, then transferred to Tacoma Northwest Detention Center.

He currently has a working visa permit for the United States and has been in the process of obtaining his citizenship. He was waiting to get his prints and visit the Mexican Consulate to schedule an appointment to complete the final process for citizenship.

He has lived here since 2000, age 15, graduated high school, is a college graduate, runs his own business, and works for a local union.

His wife is faced with obtaining legal representation while still covering their monthly expenses.

His wife is grateful for those working at the local firehouse who helped her husband when he was in need of medical attention and who were able to gather enough information from her husband and his two companions in order to inform their families.

Right now we urgently need the community's support to raise funds for his release and to support his family as they continue to live through this horrific event. Every bit helps.
