Join us for Communities Together: NY Social Justice Music Fest Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 10 AM to 4 PM on 41st Street between 6th and 7th Avenues for a social justice and cultural music festival that celebrates the people's resilience, and their commitment to each other!
Plans are afoot by huge real estate developers to build profit making glass towers, casinos, and luxury apartment buildings, while obliterating many homes, treasured land mark buildings, exquisite churches and cherished, long established businesses serving the community for decades.
Rent controlled, stabilized, and affordable apartment are systematically being stripped from the housing market. After decades of neglect, public housing is being handed over to the Related Companies, L.P., an American real estate firm to manage and to destroy. Related and NYCHA plan to demolish approximately 3,000 homes within the Elliot Chelsea and Fulton House—to steal the land beneath and around it.
And our healthcare system is literally killing us.
We've been diligently through demonstrations, petitions and pleas to government officials to protect our communities and serve the public's interest.
And we've had some success, but the threat looms like an ugly grey cloud. And we need to grow our Communities Together.
We are citizens, neighbors, musicians, activists, and like-minded elected officials united to save us from drastic over development, build sensible housing to support the public's need, rid us of the high cost of rent, protect traditional medicare, and guarantee health and housing as a human right!
