Help us support Communication Access Ambassadors
Hello World!
Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of individuals who experience speech, language, and/ or communication disabilities? Here is your opportunity! We need your help urgently!
Watch this brief (30-second) video to learn more about our request: Help Support Communication Access
The North American Alliance for Communication Access (NAACA) is a collaborative working group comprised of members from Communication Disabilities Access Canada (CDAC), ISAAC Canada, Mexico and The United States ISAAC Chapter (USSAAC).
NAACA is committed to promoting communication access for all individuals, especially those with speech, language, and/ or communication disabilities. We believe that everyone has a right to communicate effectively in all aspects of life, including when using businesses and services.
As you may know, the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC) is holding its biennial conference in Cancun, Mexico in July 2023. This conference brings together individuals from all over the world to discuss the advancements in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) technology and practices, as well as the importance of communication access.
We are requesting your financial support to ensure Communication Ambassadors who use AAC are able to provide pre-conference training to businesses and services in and around the ISAAC conference area. This training will help people who work in the area to welcome and communicate with conference delegates who use AAC.
Your donation will help cover the costs of travel, accommodations, incidentals, and recognition, in the form of an honorarium for ambassadors. Not only will your contribution support Communication Ambassadors at ISAAC Cancun, but also help to make a positive impact in the local community by raising awareness about communication access in hotels, restaurants, stores, transportation, and healthcare services.
We believe that training is vitally important for local businesses and service providers to understand the significance of communication access. The education provided will deliver the skills and knowledge for businesses and service providers to effectively communicate with conference attendees, delegates, and anyone who may have speech, language, and/ or communication disabilities.
This education will promote inclusion while ensuring that everyone has equal access to local businesses, products, and services during and long after the conference.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
The North American Alliance for Communication Access
