Help Protect the Hudson Valley - Stop the Six Senses Hotel

Help save what makes the Hudson Valley special - local farming, scenic beauty, rural character and habitat to many endangered species!

We're a grassroots group collecting funds for legal fees to prevent the multi-billion dollar global Intercontinental Hotel Group from building its first U.S. Six Senses luxury hotel resort on our precious protected lands in Northern Dutchess County.

Although the Towns of Clinton and Hyde Park NY do not allow hotels in this environmentally sensitive area, the developers are trying to subvert the law by calling their project for 400 people year-round a "conference center" (Clinton) and a "camp" (Hyde Park) .

This huge resort will do nothing for our community except degrade our lands, pollute our waters, create a traffic nightmare and further threaten endangered species.

The project spans federal, state and local wetlands that are home to endangered and threatened species including the Indiana bat, the Monarch butterfly, Blanding's turtles and others.

The developers also plan to dump their treated wastewater into the historic Crum Elbow Creek -- a Class A trout stream -- that was the known as the Ea-qua-ree-sing by indigenous peoples who lived on this land ("it is very shallow") and served the local community for generations.

Experienced environmental advocates have told us that every dollar we spend now is worth hundreds down the line since stopping the project before permits are issued avoids lengthy and costly environmental reviews and years-long legal battles.

We're already working with environmental groups and expert pro bono support and your donations will ensure we can finish this fight.
