I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Dori Fitzpatrick who has been battling Stage IV Renal Cell Carcinoma. I have known Dori for over 20 years and she is one of the most vibrant, creative, and loving people I have ever met.
Two years ago, Dori received a diagnosis that marked the beginning of what has proved to be the hardest time in her life and in the life of her family. It is a journey where every part of being human is pushed to its limits — body, mind, spirit, and resources, often all at once.
Dori is a devoted Catholic, a loving wife to Jason, and an incredible mother to three beautiful girls — Anna, Livia, and Jane. Despite constant pain and exhaustion, she remains deeply present, teaching them strength, compassion, creativity, and faith by example. Her love for her family is constant and fierce.
From the beginning, Dori has maintained a "no stone goes unturned" philosophy to fight this disease for the family she loves so much. The first treatment had life threatening side effects and each time, between multiple surgeries and radiation, her physicians would readjust, creating a new regimen that would have severe side effects requiring immediate medical attention.
Sadly, her medical team has exhausted all options and Dori’s time with us is limited. The physical toll has been immense, but the emotional and spiritual challenges have been just as heavy. Through it all, Dori has met suffering with courage, faith, humor and grace that continue to humble everyone who knows her.
Dori built a successful photography business doing what she loved—capturing life’s precious moments for others. She took great pride in delivering on her promises. When declining health prevented her from attending some shoots in person, she assembled a trusted team to carry out the work to her standards. While this allowed her to continue serving clients with integrity, it also required hiring additional help, creating unexpected and significant financial strain. Now, the time has come to close her business as she focuses on spending her remaining time with Jason and her girls.
This battle will soon be over for Dori. Jason and the girls are about to navigate life without their beloved wife and mother and the financial burden should not add to their grief. Like many people, there was no life insurance, so we are raising funds to relieve pressure and help cover outstanding medical expenses, funeral costs and living expenses as the family adjusts to the loss of Dori’s income. Dori's faith is central to her life, and keeping her daughters at Saratoga Central Catholic - a community she values deeply - is an important way to honor her wishes and maintain stability during this difficult transition.
All funds raised go directly to the family and any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the burden during this incredibly challenging time. If you are unable to contribute financially, please share this campaign and keep Dori and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and love during this heartbreaking time.
With gratitude,
