Around 2:30am on September 26th, the Looten family awoke to anyone's worst nightmare, the realization that their home was on fire. Charlie, his wife Geneva, their 4 sons, and 3 of their son's friends were asleep in the home when the electrical fire started. By the grace of God, they were all able to evacuate safely. And while the threat of the physical harm is over, their long journey of picking up the pieces has only just begun.

Their family home, which was also Geneva's childhood home, is a complete loss. The devastation is too incomprehensible to process. The home was so much more than just bricks, boards, and tile. It represented years' worth of hard work, shared love, and childhood memories. It was their place of rest and safety. All taken from them overnight.

The family is now faced with processing the emotional trauma that comes with such an experience. The kids had to bury beloved pets that were lost in the fire. They sifted through the charred remains of items that used to be their clothes, their toys, and their whole world. The family vehicle was parked nearby and was also totaled, leaving the family without basic means of transportation. Their lives turned completely upside down in an instant.

The financial burden they face would be devastating to anyone. At this time the family could use anything from basic hygiene items, clothing, shoes, gift cards, to monetary donations. Clothing sizes needed for their boys are 3T, 5T, 10-12 youth (or M/L youth), and adult small.
