Comfort Through Stories: Helping Kids Heal After the LA Fire

Thank you to everyone who has supported Comfort Through Stories & Play: Children’s Book Drive so far! The campaign runs from January 14 to February 9, 2025, and thanks to your generosity, 900 books have already been collected and distributed!

January 14, 2025:

In the wake of the LA fires, many families have lost their homes and the comforts that bring joy and connection. For children, books, art supplies, and games are tools for healing and creativity.

Comfort Through Stories & Play: Children’s Book Drive is focused on providing these items to children and youth affected by the fires. These resources will be donated to local community centers, like the Care Camps run by LA Parks and Recreation, where kids are finding refuge and normalcy.

Why This Matters:

For children and youth who have lost so much, having access to books, art, and games can be a source of comfort and a path to healing. It’s not just about what they’ll receive—it’s about how these resources will help them process, connect, and rebuild their sense of hope.

What We’re Raising Funds For:

The funds from this campaign will be used to purchase:

Books that spark imagination, comfort, and learning.

Art supplies to provide creative outlets for self-expression.

Board games to encourage connection and shared joy.
