I am fundraising to provide Costa gift cards for families staying in the bereavement suite at my local hospital.

This cause is incredibly personal to me. Earlier this year, my world changed forever when we were told our son, Austin, was suddenly very poorly. We were thrown into a journey no parent ever expects to face, and we sadly lost our beautiful boy. During the darkest days of our lives, we experienced firsthand how important compassion, support, and even the smallest acts of kindness can be.

The bereavement suite became a place where we made precious memories with Austin — memories we will carry with us forever. In those moments of heartbreak, something as simple as being able to step away for a warm drink or not having to think about the cost of a coffee meant more than words can explain.

I want to give back to other grieving parents who find themselves in that same unimaginable situation. My hope is that by providing Costa gift cards to the bereavement suite, families can have one small comfort during the most painful time of their lives.

No parent should have to worry about the little things while spending precious time with their baby. Whether it’s a hot drink after a sleepless night, a quick break for fresh air, or simply a small gesture reminding them that people care, I hope these gift cards can offer a tiny bit of comfort when it’s needed most.
