Comfort and Care for Patti

I'm Jeff and this fundraiser is for my mom Patti. She has suffered from SLE Lupus for many years; however, over the past 10 years or so, her disease has progressively worsened. For those that may not be aware, Lupus destroys the body's immune system essentially causing the body to attack itself. This has caused her to develop multiple additional medical problems, many of which her providers have been unable to adequately address. She has degenerated to the extent that her primary care doctor is attempting to secure Palliative Care for her.

This fundraiser is for items that wouldn't be addressed by insurance or the palliative care. Specifically, both of her shoulders are injured and in chronic, severe pain and she is unable to get out of her current bed so the main goal of this is to be able to get her an adjustable bed where the head can elevate so that she can get in and out of it and stop sleeping in a chair. The next goal would be to get her a couch that is more sufficient for her needs that would either accommodate her lying down on it or have a pull out sofa. If this fundraiser meets those goals, any additional amount would go towards her medical expenses (medications, doctor evaluations, additional equipment if needed, quality of life improvements, etc.)
