** update : As medical bills pile up and it becomes unclear how extensively recovery impact Emmy’s work (and at the urging of many generous friends) we have unpaused donations.**

We are fundraising to get two weeks in an Airbnb for Emmy while she recovers from getting hit by a car while taking a walk on Saturday 3/28. Because Emily will be touring for the better part of the year she gave up her permanent residence in LA. During this brief break from tour, she was back in town and subletting a room in a friend’s house, but unfortunately the room is at the bottom of a flight of stairs, which will be too difficult for her to maneuver after her surgery. We’d like to set her up in a cozy Airbnb with no stairs (ideally near her doctors and PT) where she can have comfort, privacy, and time to process the trauma of what happened. She is still in the hospital now and we are hoping we can get her out and on the road to recovery soon.

One second she was just walking down the street to meet a friend and the next she woke up in a hospital bed with no idea what had happened. The last thing we want is for an already awful experience to also cause her financial and logistical stress. So many people love this amazing woman that I think if we all chipped in a dollar or two we could make this happen pretty quickly.
