One year ago, the comedy community of Lehigh Valley PA gathered together to raise money to help our friend, comedian Jeremy Hubsher. Jeremy was seriously ill, hospitalized in Pottstown following multiple surgeries and fighting for his life. But Jeremy is a warrior like no other. He recovered, lost weight, got healthy and returned to the mic stronger and more determined than ever. The funds we raised helped him pay past due bills and sustained him while he rehabilitated his body and finally months later, he returned to work. Now he needs our help again.
Jeremy drives for a living (his day job). You probably do not know that on Wednesday, he was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident on High St in Pottstown, right outside the very same hospital he nearly spent his final days. The irony. His car was totally destroyed in the crash. Thankfully he was not injured. Jeremy has only the minimum in insurance coverage so he will receive no payment for his vehicle loss. Worse yet, his insurance coverage will not come close to paying for the other drivers damages which he may be responsible for in the near future. But now he is without a vehicle and has no funds to purchase another. No vehicle for Jeremy means NO WORK and NO INCOME. Struggling and aspiring comedians are often living near the poverty level so I am starting this GoFundMe to help out Jeremy. Hopefully together we can raise the funds enabling him to buy another car so he can return to work driving and continue performing comedy in his spare time. Please support this fund and give what you can. Even $5 would help. I know what a loving and supportive community we share as comedians. Your donation is most appreciated. Thank you for reading this far and thank you for your compassion.
P.S. Jeremy does not know about this fund….yet….I know it will be difficult to keep it from him but I also know he is a proud and private person and would never ask for help from his comedy brethren. Sometimes we just need to do the right thing and show people that no matter what life throws at us, we love and support them.
