This fundraiser will pay for me to come to ten Polish cities and take a long hard look at the state of urbanism in them.
It my personal Anti-Katowice Polish Tour 2022.
After having visited Katowice during WUF, I need to see better examples of urban design and planning in the country, but let's face it... I'm not optimistic. Not at all. This might be the depressing urbanism version of Kieślowski's Decalogue, with music by a depressed version of Szymanowski.
But I love Poland and always have. So while some word bombs might get dropped, peoples' feelings might get hurt I just want to try and make things better. More life-sized.
I won't do any of my professional consulting but I will meet with people in my network in each city to get context and to discuss about how things could be better.
The funds will cover:
- Travel and accommodation
- Alcohol to either:
A. Drown my urbanist sorrows or
B. Celebrate urbanism goodness.
All funds that are not used will go directly to my non-profit organisation.
